Situated
between Marseille, Aix en Provence and Toulon, Cassis
little jewel of the Méditerranée has known how to keep its
soul.
Cassis
inspired famous artists seduced by the charme of this little
fishing port, protected from one side by the "Massif of
Calanques" and by the otther side the "Cap Canaille" (416 m
height). During the 19 th and 20 th centuries Cassis welcomed
great painting masters. Derain, Picabia, Signas, Camoin,
Verdilhan, Guindon who had a house path of "Bérard" and who
recieved a lot of counterparts. Quite a lot of french but also a
lot of foreigner painters. Jerome Hill painter settled his
foundation there.
